Educate

One of MATJC's goals is to educate lawyers about the poverty issues of Mississippi, the shortcomings of legal aid as it is today to service that group and the professional and moral obligations to act on that knowledge. Before lawyers can solve the problem they must understand it.

Legislate

MATJC will target and educate members of the state legislative and executive branches about the critical need for legal services of the lowest income individuals. Additionally, we will focus on law school loan repayment assistance legislation.

Donate

MATJC encourages donations from lawyers and nonlawyers alike, to assist in meeting the legal needs of the vast numbers of underserved Mississippians. For information about donating click here.

Participate

MATJC in conjunction with various legal services providers, will participate in and promote National Pro Bono Week which is being planned for October, 2010. The week will be highly promoted as a community service, and will hopefully serve as a stepping stone towards getting more attorneys to become pro bono volunteers.
